Dr. Haiying (“Mia”) Zhang, DDS

Dr. Mia Zhang, DDS, is committed to helping her patients achieve and maintain healthy, confident smiles through gentle, personalized dental care. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, a leading institution recognized for clinical excellence and advanced training.

Her journey into dentistry began at Texas A&M University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with a minor in Public Health. While shadowing a local dentist, Dr. Zhang witnessed how restoring a person’s oral health could transform their confidence and overall quality of life. This experience inspired her to pursue dentistry as the perfect blend of science, artistry, and service to others.

During dental school, Dr. Zhang volunteered at the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic, providing free dental care to underserved and homeless individuals. Through this work, she developed a deep appreciation for the role of empathy, patience, and clear communication in establishing trust and delivering exceptional care.

Dr. Zhang is known for her gentle touch, thoughtful communication, and patient-first approach. She takes time to understand each patient’s goals and customizes treatment plans based on their unique needs. Her clinical interests include preventive and restorative dentistry, with an emphasis on long-term oral health, patient education, and creating a comfortable experience for all.

In addition to English, Dr. Zhang speaks fluent Japanese and Mandarin Chinese, allowing her to provide care and clear communication to a broader community of patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Zhang enjoys playing pickleball, exploring local restaurants, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Her dedication to continuous learning and compassionate care makes her a trusted partner in helping patients achieve lasting oral health and confident smiles.
