Dental Assistant Job Responsibilities
As part of our clinical team, you’ll help make every patient visit smooth, comfortable, and memorable. Your key responsibilities include:
- Go above and beyond to deliver the myDental Experience — ensuring every patient feels cared for and valued
- Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or checkups
- Provide excellent chairside support through four-handed dentistry
- Set up and sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
- Keep operatories and common areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Assist with patient scheduling, recordkeeping, and payment coordination
- Support lab tasks and clinical procedures as directed by the dentist
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficiency, quality, and exceptional service
Dental Assistant Qualifications & Skills
- 1–2 years of dental assisting experience preferred, not required
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control procedures
- Understanding of HIPAA and dental office safety standards
- Implant and Invisalign experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset
- Skilled in four-handed dentistry and efficient chairside support
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive in a team setting
- Positive attitude and growth mindset essential
- High school diploma required; Dental Assistant certification (RDA, EFDA, or equivalent) preferred
