Dental Assistant Job Responsibilities

As part of our clinical team, you’ll help make every patient visit smooth, comfortable, and memorable. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Go above and beyond to deliver the myDental Experience — ensuring every patient feels cared for and valued
  • Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or checkups
  • Provide excellent chairside support through four-handed dentistry
  • Set up and sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
  • Keep operatories and common areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Assist with patient scheduling, recordkeeping, and payment coordination
  • Support lab tasks and clinical procedures as directed by the dentist
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficiency, quality, and exceptional service

Dental Assistant Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–2 years of dental assisting experience preferred, not required
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control procedures
  • Understanding of HIPAA and dental office safety standards
  • Implant and Invisalign experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset
  • Skilled in four-handed dentistry and efficient chairside support
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive in a team setting
  • Positive attitude and growth mindset essential
  • High school diploma required; Dental Assistant certification (RDA, EFDA, or equivalent) preferred
